Breathtaking Scenery-Fort Dunree, Buncranna
Explore the many walks around this old military sea fort and enjoy the magnificent scenery from of the opposing cliffs of the Fanad Peninsula. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome inside the Military Museum. When you’re done exploring, grab a coffee and a bite to eat at the onsite cafe – The Coffee Cup ‘the most scenic coffee shop in Ireland’.
Doagh Famine Village, Ballyliffin
A must visit attraction offering an indoor/outdoor experience. A visit to Doagh Famine Village is a journey worth taking! With regular tours throughout the day, 7 days a week and predominantly undercover it is an ideal place to visit any time and regardless of the weather. Dogs are welcome at the Famine Village. *Open March – October.
Glenveagh National Park & Castle
Explore the many trails, hikes and walks that this national park has to offer among some of the most breathtaking scenery in Ireland set on a glacial lake. *dogs are not permitted inside the castle but don’t worry, they are welcome in the beautiful gardens of the castle.

Jutting into the Atlantic Ocean, along the Wild Atlantic Way, The Inishowen Peninsula has an abundance of beautiful beaches to explore. Enjoy swimming at blue flag beaches, meandering for miles across sandy beaches or playing fetch with your four legged family member whilst taking in the truly stunning scenery of Inishowen.
Kinnegoe Bay

A steep descent leads you to the stunning Kinnegoe Bay, a secluded golden beach in Inishowen known for being the location of the wreck of an Armada ship in 1588. Enclosed by steep, woody hills Kinnegoe Bay is a very special and extremely beautiful place, perfect for walks with your dog.
Shrove Beach & Lighthouse

This Blue Flag Beach offers visitors views of the Atlantic Ocean with passing boats on their way to Greencastle fishing village – only a few miles away. Get some snaps of the picture perfect lighthouse here.

This Blue Flag Beach stretches for miles – Blue skies and calm clear waters or stormy winter days with crashing waves, this beach is spectacular in any weather.
Tullagh Bay Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches in county Donegal, Tullagh Bay is a perfect horse shoe bay with golden sands and crystal clear waters. You could easily spend hours here walking, exploring and playing with your four legged best friend.
Five Finger Strand
FIVE FINGER STRAND
Discover some of the largest sand dunes in Europe at the famous Five Finger Strand in Malin. This beach is magnificent in any weather – rain or shine. After exploring this beach, take a drive up to the view point for spectacular views of this strand and the surrounding countryside. Then head onto Malin Head – only a 10 minute drive from Five Finger Strand.
WALKS
Moville Shore Walk
The shore path walk is one of Moville’s most popular attractions with a variety of small beaches dotted along the way. This 4km walk will lead you to the neighbouring fishing village of Greencastle where you can grab a coffee or light lunch at one of their cafes who welcome dogs in their outside dining spaces.
Inishowen Head
This national loop walk starts at a car park area at a World War 2 Lookout Tower atop Inishowen Head. On this wild and remote loop you pass the point from where St Columba left Ireland on his way to Iona, and a viewing point from where, on some fine days, the west of Scotland is visible. map
Malin Head, Ireland’s most northerly point
A trip to Inishowen wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Ireland’s most northerly point – Malin Head. From sun scorched rocks and calm ocean waters to blustery wilderness at the edge of Ireland, it’s no wonder this is the no.1 spot to visit on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Walk along the cliff-side path to Hell’s Hole, a chasm where the tide rushes in with impressive force.
Swan Park Buncranna
This beautiful park offers charming pathways with lots of nice additions – free libraries, fairy doors, poetry readings, butterfly gardens, picnic tables & benches. The beautiful Crana River runs through the park and hosts the annual kayaking festival, Crana Fest.
Inch Wildfowl Reserve
The Wildfowl Reserve includes a popular 8km looped path with seating, viewpoints and a number of bird hides open to the public.
This scenic pathway follows around the lake edge and offers panoramic views of the surrounding agricultural landscape and wetlands.
Dogs on leads are welcome.
EAT
After a busy day exploring, tuck your four legged friend into bed for the night and head out to dinner at one of the many eateries in the area. And don’t worry, our staff at Moville Boutique Hostel will make sure they are well looked after, just let reception know that you’re heading out.
